Besides the earthquake tremors and massive hail storms (I’m wondering if we will be seeing either frogs, boils or plague next) It was a BIG fundraising week for me. I’m tired but happy.
We are now nearing the end of month six (when IGRA By-Laws state royalty members must have completed their “requirements”) happily mine are complete and everything from here on out is just that much more gravy. The team is hard at work making a strong dent in the $25,000.00 goal we set for ourselves. I think we are possibly a third of the way there.
Personally, after a full day at the Salon cranking hair, my performance week began in full swing. Saturday Evening on 6/9 Dallas’ Miss TGRA candidates: Kenya Ryder Davis & Anita Mann produced a 501c3 charity show in Denton TX. The proceeds go to one of TGRA Dallas’ primary beneficiaries,
Legacy Counseling & Founders Cottage. I had fun being with my girls!
After driving back home and leaving my face on the wash cloth, I baked two cakes and packed a basket lunch to auction off at Sunday’s Box Social at the Dallas Eagle.

In the midst of a hot sunny day, drag performers from
TGRA,
The United Court of the Line Star Empire,
The DFW Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and the
S. L. U. T. S. came out in force to support this amazingly fun and uplifting event.
Pre-show music and for the Cake Walk was all upbeat Gospel. It was great fun to see folks waving hankies in the air as they circled the numbers on the floor trying to win a cake. The Austin Babtist Women, as always, were wonderful and energetic. Sister Kerri and the DFW Sisters performed as did the UCLSE ladies Auxillery and Salena Whorez from the S. L. U. T. S. Each group provided a boxed lunch for auction (most were large enough to feed the masses) What a Hoot of a show! Two hours later we were finished with a large intake of donations. Many commented on how fresh and unexpectedly fun the event was.
The following Saturday of 6/16 began early for me with a perm at the salon at 8am. This part of my day ended by 2:30. Then it was off to pack the car and head to Garlow’s in Gun Barrel City for
Stars Over Texas On The Road show.

This show had a cabaret feel. I sang four 20 minute sets to a packed bar. During my breaks to change clothes I was privileged to have a nice mix of performers.
Fort Worth’s Miss TGRA Candidate Kelly O’Neill, Dallas’
Mr TGRA Candidate Lee Roger,
Miss Charity America Thelma D’Zell and
Voice of Pride Contestant Eric Way.
Also this week we began accepting applicants for the Mr, Miss, Ms & MsTer
Yellow Rose of Texas Pageant.

This week begins early on 6/20 Hosting the Roundup Saloon’s
Voice of Pride preliminary. Next on Saturday 6/23 I will be supporting the
UCLSE‘s Emperor Marshal Styers and Craig Bolson in their, always popular,
Diva & Divo Pageant. It’s a fast paced drag roulette competition that gets faster and faster as the night progresses. on Sunday 6/24 I will be the makeup artist for three LifeWalk gals as they perform at Miss LifeWalk, Lotta Pink’s
Brunch with Lotta. Then Monday night I will be back with Mark Alan Smith at the Roundup Saloon for a wonderful evening of live vocals.
THEN National Gay Pride Weekend kicks off my busiest travel season of the year. 6/28 to Calgary &
ARGRA‘s rodeo, 7/13 it’s off to Denver for
CGRA‘s Rodeo, 6/27 I hit Detroit for
IGRA‘s board meeting &
MIGRA‘s Rodeo followed by Sante Fe on 8/3 for
NMGRA‘s Rodeo. all this while being at events in North Texas for July 4th,
Voice of Pride Semi Finals,
Miss Dallas America pageant (I’m a former) and hopefully another fundraiser of my own on the strip of the Dallas Gayborhood. Talk about keeping myself busy! SO, needless to say I am certain to see many of you very VERY soon!
Kiss kiss! Victoria
