Hello! I am Sabel D’ Zyre and I am so excited to be in the blogosphere with you today. Since being crowned Miss IGRA 2013 back in October, so much has been happening for me. First, I am beyond excited to be in the company of Frank, Laine, John, & Curtiss. We are planing an exciting year, and we hope you’ll join us on the crazy-fun train this year. I would like to take a moment to congratulate the 2012 IGRA Royalty Team for an amazing year of Royalty, Fundraising, and Fun! And a very special Thanks to Miss Victoria Weston, Miss IGRA 2012. You left some big boots to fill. Can’t wait to build on your legacy, and that of all my predecessors!
Back in November, I was asked to be a presenter at the 8th OUT Music Awards at Planet Hollywood resort, Hotel & Casino held here in Las Vegas, NV. I got to present the award to Best Country Music Single of the Year – kind of fitting for a rodeo queen don’t you think? It was so much fun walking the Red Carpet, interviewing with reporters from all over, and taking plenty of pictures with new fans and friends. I got to meet Vicci Martinez from The Voice, and Frenchy Davis from American Idol and The Voice (her performance was amazing!) Mr. IGRA 2nd Runner-Up, Curtiss Lewis was my date that evening; and boy does he clean up well! We met with some (real girl) beauty queens and IGRA presents a bigger crown… just sayin’! The show is in editing, but I will be sure to let you know when it is set to air.
In December, I officially stepped down as Miss NGRA 2012. What a fabulous night. Many tears of joy and happiness were shared. Having the opportunity to be re-sashed in front of my friends who could not be in Dallas, was a great moment for me. I cannot wait to see what 2103 has in store for me. My community has been very supportive and I couldn’t be any luckier.
January marks the start of a new year. I asked myself what I hope to accomplish this year and my answer is always the same. To end the year better than when I started it. So far… I am on track. I will be blogging as much as I can to keep you all informed of my journey this year. I am sure there will be tears, laughs, love, and, most of all, cherished memories. I can’t wait for that. In fact, some fun memories were created when Mr. IGRA 2013 2nd Runner Up Curtiss Lewis, Mr. NGRA 2013 West Fisher, and I all surprised GSGRA with a visit to their Royalty Competition in Long Beach, CA. Congratulations to Ed Hamilton, Mr. GSGRA 2013. Wow, that was a fun night. Everyone was so happy and excited to see us there. I felt so proud and humbled. I had two memorable moments that night. First, at the bar, a lesbian couple was so ready for a menage with moi! (Love that!!) And second, I was gently exposed to “Puppy Play”… I must admit that I am still scratching my wig line on that one. Thank you for the wonderful reception to: JP Soto, Miss Ophelia, Scotty Shadix, “Grumpy” Bruce Roby, and, and, and…. too many wonderful people to name. You made this queen a little moist in the ducts (and that’s not good when I am not wearing waterproof!)
Well it is now February and that can only mean on thing… RODEO!!!! I am excited that I get to see all my Rodeo Brothers & Sisters who will be attending AGRA’s Road Runner Regional Rodeo. They always put on one heck of a good time and I am super stoked to be part of it all! If you see me out and about there, please come up and say hello! I would love to meet you.
With Un-D’Zyre-Able love,
Sabel D’ Zyre, Miss IGRA 2013
Great job on fundraising at the AGRA rodeo and raising $600 to help our injured rodeo school student Lewis. Thanks to you and your helpers for stepping up to help one of our own. I can’t imagine what I would have had to kiss in order to raise that amount of money!
