Tony is a Saint Paul native, born and raised close to down town Saint Paul. Even with being a city boy tony has had his roots in country and rodeo lifestyle in his own life. He even wore cowboy boots to high school and listened to country music, even when it wasn't a cool thing to do. Tony joined NSGRA back in 2016. Where he started to become active with assisting other community groups in events, fundraising, and performances.
Tony started competing on the IGRA Circuit in goat dressing and wild drag. Tony received his first ribbon at the 2016 Palm Springs Rodeo in Wild drag, his first time competing in that event. Tony continued to compete during the year. Even learned how to calf rope on foot. Tony was able to compete at last year's World Gay Rodeo Finals (WGRF) 2016 in Goat Dressing with partner Thomas McCarthy in Las Vegas Nevada. Tony, traveled to Pennsylvania to help the Key Stone Gay Rodeo Association in fundraising for their first rodeo. Tony is currently the events and fundraising chair for the North Star Gay Rodeo Association.
Tony had attended last year's convention in Austin Texas, and was a delegate for North Star. Tony has also been alternate trustee during the year at various rodeos around the circuit. This year tony remained busy in the IGRA circuit. Traveling to Arizona, competed at the AGRA Rodeo, Denver Rodeo, and Kansas City Rodeo. Competing is not the only thing Tony has done on the circuit. Tony has also timed at the TGRA Rodeo, Little Rock, and Kansas City.
With retaining the title of Mr. NSGRA 2017 Tony has worked hard with fundraising not only just for North Star, but also with and other community organizations and charities around the Minneapolis/ Saint Paul area. Tony has continuously worked with the leather community, pup community, The Imperial Court of Minnesota, and other clubs in the community including North Star Gay Rodeo Associations Charity Partner, The Aliveness Project.
On behalf of every member of the North Star Gay Rodeo Association, including myself and Miss NSGRA 2017 Gosh Alice Jones. We like to congratulate every candidate who is running for IGRA Royalty this weekend. To the constantans competing at WGRF, good luck and be safe. Here's moving forward to a Great 2018 Rodeo Season.
