Ms. IGRA 2019, 1st runner up

Jen Vrana

Jen is a true Philadelphian who, since 1990 has had the honor to protect and serve her city as a law enforcement officer. For many years she was part of the elite Mounted Patrol Division and has worked her way up the ranks. She has also run several non-profit organizations and events donating over 100,000 to LGBT charities. Jen married the love of her life, Suzanne, in 2016 and they reside in South Philadelphia along with their four-legged family.

In 1992, at the first Atlantic Stampede Rodeo, Jen was wrangled out of the Friday night crowd to compete in Wild Drag with Dan Iverson and Greg Olson. She got hooked and has competed in over 100 rodeos learning 10 different events. Her horse, The Mighty Quinn, has helped her win a dozen All Around Titles. One of those titles was earned in 2002 while Jen was battling stage IV Hodgins Disease, just weeks before her lifesaving stem cell transplant.

For many years all roads have led to rodeo for Jen. If she isn't competing she is promoting or teaching others about the sport. She founded the Liberty Gay Rodeo Association and brought rodeo to her hometown. She still produces rodeo schools as she believes in creating safe environments for people to get hands on experience. She also loves to con others, like was done to her to "just try it". Because of this, she has been called the grandmother of east coast rodeo.

In early 2018, Jen stepped out of her comfort zone as a competitor and became the first Ms. KSGRA. She believes in order to be a true all-around cowgirl she needed to expand her boundaries as royalty is one of the beating hearts behind gay rodeo.

Just like her career, Jen sees it as an honor to serve the International Gay Rodeo Association. Her motto is "just don't live... live well".
