My name is Danny Perez, I am a 29 years old man who loves to cook, play video games and capture the beauty of life through photography.
I was born July 29th 1992 in Mexico before being brought to the USA when I was 2 months old. Growing up I always felt different from most of my peers but I never really understood why till later in life when I found out that I was undocumented. Finding this out really turned my world upside down, However, I did not let this hurdle stop me from achieving my dreams. I pushed myself in school and fought to be the best in anything I took part in becoming my class president and earning many academic awards.
After graduating high school I unfortunately was not able to attend college due to my legal status but again I did not let that get me down and went a different path, a path of service to my community and to help all those in need.
During the winter I volunteered at homeless kitchens to help provide holiday meals. I also volunteered at every health health fair as a translator for the latin community to help them take part of the free health services that were provided.
In 2015 I joined the Men Of Charlie's, a charity group dedicated to helping raise money for the LGBTQ+ community and I fell in love with the group and the family I had created in the organization.
Through the Men of Charlie's I found my way to the colorado gay rodeo association and attended my first gay rodeo as a volunteer and that was an experience that will forever have a place in my heart.
After attending a few more rodeos I decided to run for the royalty program and compete for the Mr. CGRA title. In 2020 I finally received the title of Mr. CGRA and held it until the end of 2021. In the two years of being royalty my Miss and I were able to help so many charities by raising money through various fundraisers and made so many new connections with so many people that I now have come to call my family.
Today I still aspire to achieve greatness and am willing to lend a helping hand to all who I am able to help in order to make this world a better place one person at a time. I would also like to thank my parents for allowing me the path to become the man that I am today and a special thank you to my little brother for believing in me and for giving me the chance to show him that anything is possible if you dream it.
