Grand Marshal

Lorry King

Lorry is a tireless straight "ally" of gay rodeo! Her love of western dance has motivated her to demonstrating excellence as an IGRA western dance competitor (winning 1st place twice). She has committed her time and expertise to IGRA by teaching dance and by heading the dance committee.

Many Rodeo Directors have leaned on Lorry for her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail and Lorry has sacrificed thousands of hours of her time to attend as many rodeos as possible, assisting in any way possible at each. Lorry has served the BOD of IGRA and has served as an instructor at IGRA-U two years. For all these reasons, Lorry embodies the volunteer spirit that is the basis of all that we do at IGRA.

Honorary Grand Marshal

Gregory Hinton

A son of the rural Rocky Mountain West, Gregory Hinton is the creator of the Gay Rodeo Legacy Project which brought the archives of the International Gay Rodeo Association to the permanent rodeo collection of the Autry National Center in Los Angeles for which Gregory was awarded the IGRA 2009 President's Award.

Gregory is also the creator and producer of Out West, a historic LGBT program series he created to shine a light on the positive contributions of the gay community to the history and culture of the American west. Gregory Hinton also serves on the Board of the Gay and Lesbian Rodeo Heritage Foundation.

Community Hero

Kelly McFarlane Smith of QVegas

Kelly began publishing Out Las Vegas magazine in January 1999. In June 2002, she bought the competing Las Vegas Bugle and combined them. Also in 2002, she founded the National Coming Out Day Street Festival. Since then, this annual October event has contributed thousands to local charities. In April 2004, she revamped the newsprint, tabloid-sized publication into a monthly, glossy magazine and changed the name to QVegas, and since then it has gone on to be one of the most successful regional gay magazines in the country.

In 2005, Kelly started the QVegas Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that has given over $75,000 to charitable causes in the Las Vegas area. QVegas and/or the QVegas Foundation has sponsored almost every LGBT community event over the years. Kelly is well-known and widely admired throughout southern Nevada, and we are honored to recognize her contributions to the community.
