Minutes taken by ASGRA Trustee Tom Lott
- At 1 PM the President called the IGRA Board Meeting to order. The entire Executive Board was present as well as 18-20 Trustees were present.
- A Quorum was met
- The President said he is still learning his job
- The minutes of the last IGRA Board Meeting which was held at University in St Louis, MO were approved.
- The IGRA University profited and was in the black by $ 1,700. Dance competition also made $ 149.
- A new IGRA web site is being worked on by Don Harris from Georgia. The new "glitzy" style will be hard to open on slower computers. The new site connotes the themes that Gay Rodeo is only about "Men Kissing Men", and "Women ride Bulls". I very much disagree with these themes, and if it continues as I believe it will, IGRA, in my opinion, will have to get a new Web Master.
- The Monday night before IGRA Board Meetings, there will be telephonic Committee Chair meetings.
- The use of Junior Bulls versus Steers has made the event safer, with faster runs. It improves scores and uses better animals.
- President's Challenges
- IGRA needs greater marketing efforts. We are not reaching out enough to gain more members and community acceptance.
- IGRA needs more Corporate Sponsors. We have been relying on a handful. We need a greater variety.
- The number if IGRA judges is shrinking. We need to get more judges qualified.
- We need a major corporate sponsor for the 2011 World Gar Rodeo Finals.
- This year there have been too rodeos scheduled and then cancelled. It gives IGRA a bad image. These cancellations also make it harder to gain corporate sponsors, as they look at IGRA in a declining image.
- President's Opportunities
- The President is very eager to put up the new web site
- The President is happy with the way Dance is being promoted.
- Royalty is working enthusiastically this year and should bring in much more funding than in recent years.
- Gay Days and Rodeo School are helping with our image in communities.
- President's Priorities
- The President wants more corporate sponsors.
- He wants to get On-Line Registration expanded with announcer's information.
- IGRA needs a Public Relation's Chair Person and a Marketing Chair Person. Both positions are empty.
- IGRA now owns Convention, University and the World Gay Rodeo Finals. But the By Laws show three totally different approaches. They should be the same and he will work on getting these changes done.
- He discussed how he would like to select World Gay Rodeo Final Rodeo Directors, and it differs from the past. In the past people were selected by the President and trained for about four years. Next year Heather Murray from Calgary is supposed to be the Director and she was concerned by the new approach as she has trained hard for four years. She is well qualified. There is about an 11 month lead time for setting up Work Gay Rodeo Finals rodeo.

- The Secretary needs better and timely input for IGRA Convention Plaque Awards
- Treasurer

- Finances are normal with no major problems at this time.
- Administrative Assistant
- Insurance for each Association's Officers and Directors is very important, especially if there are law suits. The Insurance Forms are on the IGRA web site. It costs approximately $ 200 a year for coverage which is about 1/8th the normal cost for this coverage.
- April is Insurance month.
- Be sure to send new membership lists periodically. He needs them.
- Please place the ad for the World Gay Rodeo Finals in every Association Program.
