My name is Tanya Owen, just a country girl with a heart as big as the Texas sky. I was shaped by a life lived between two very different worlds: the sprawling landscapes of Texas and the sun-drenched coast of California. My soul, however, always belonged to our ranch in Temple, where I spent every possible moment. It was there I found my greatest passion and a kindred spirit in my horse, Jewel, with whom I shared the thrill of barrel racing & chasing cows. My love for the land and livestock instilled in me a deep-seated connection to the Western lifestyle that would stay with me for life.

After earning a degree in accounting from Baylor University, I built a 35-year career in the dental industry, now specializing in selling dental equipment. My life’s journey has been marked by resilience, including a personal battle with cancer and a successful run as a semi-pro volleyball player.

The course of my life took a beautiful and unexpected turn in 2013 when I met my late spouse at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where we both served as volunteers. When my spouse began his personal transition from male to female, we discovered the Texas Gay Rodeo Association (TGRA) and were instantly captivated. It was more than an organization; it was a new family where we found unconditional love and acceptance. Though my spouse’s time here & with TGRA was short due to brain cancer, their legacy of love & acceptance became my personal mission. I adopted their stage name, Standards, and became Tanya Owen Standards, committed to carrying on their spirit & love for raising money for our community.

While we initially joined TGRA together, I now stay for myself and for anyone who believes it’s too late to try something new and/or to live authentically themselves. My mission is to champion the growth of rodeo and all that we stand for, showing others that our community exists and is a welcoming home. There is nothing I love more than being in the dirt at our rodeos, living my passion, and being a part of a family that celebrates everyone for who they truly are.

Bobbie Jo Hogue, also known as Bobbie Renè Cat, proudly serves as the 2026 Ms. International Gay Rodeo First Runner-Up within the International Gay Rodeo Association and the Arizona Gay Rodeo Association communities.

She is passionate about supporting equestrian athletes, both in and out of the arena—celebrating their victories, uplifting them through challenges, and honoring the dedication they bring to the sport. Bobbie has had the privilege of working alongside International Gay Rodeo Association Royalty across the country, representing and serving at rodeos in Palm Springs, Arizona, and beyond, with upcoming appearances in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Through her role, she is committed to raising funds, promoting awareness, and advancing the mission of the International Gay Rodeo Association—fostering inclusion, diversity, and a welcoming space for all.
